I HOST LITERARY EVENTS AIMED AT INSPIRING COMMUNITIES NOT ONLY TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES ON PAPER BUT TO FIND EMPOWERMENT IN SHARING THOSE STORIES. I try to highlight other local writers, especially self-published women of color.

PAST EVENTS HAVE INCLUDED READINGS, PANELS, OPEN MICS, AND SIGNATURES SERIES SUCH AS: THE BOOK SWAP PARTY, HEALING THROUGH WRITING WORKSHOP, AND THE LIT EXHIBIT.

THE LIT EXHIBIT

The Lit Exhibit is a curated gallery consisting entirely of  writing and literary art by contemporary and emerging writers. Presented in April 2017 as a pop-up show at New Women Space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, The Lit Exhibit fuses written, visual and interactive storytelling to create an immersive experience for attendants.

HEALING THROUGH WRITING WORKSHOP

Co-hosted by myself and Rowana Abbensetts of Spoken Black Girl Mag, this workshop is an intimate session focused on personal narrative as a tool for working through healing, grief and trauma.

THE BOOK SWAP PARTY

A fun event for book lovers of all ages! The rules are simple: everyone brings a book and at the end of the night, takes home a new one! To supplement the event, the book swap party may include panel discussions, guest readings, and raffle giveaways.

CRAFT WORKSHOPS

I've hosted mini workshops that blend writing with crafts. Previous editions included making your own zines (collage art) and DIY marbled stationery. Sometimes it's nice to cater to your inner child.
